Joshua Bell Plays Beethoven

OVERVIEW

In one of the most anticipated programs of the season, GRAMMY®-winning violinist Joshua Bell returns to perform with the Utah Symphony in a night of Beethoven. Known for his expressive playing and magnetic performances that captivate audiences around the world, Bell and his Stradivarius take center stage in Beethoven’s Violin Concerto, a work of sweeping lyricism and dazzling virtuosity.

Winner of the Sir Georg Solti Conducting Award, conductor Earl Lee makes his Utah Symphony debut leading Beethoven’s joyful Symphony No. 2. Written as Beethoven was confronting the first signs of his hearing loss, the symphony is filled with wit, energy, and his determination to keep his gift alive. More than two centuries later, its radiant melodies and playful surprises promise an exhilarating start to this special evening at the symphony.

An iconic composer. A superstar violinist. A night you can’t miss!
